KL Tower: Solving a problem by introducing another problem

I guess the last time I’ve been here is like decades ago. At that time KL Tower was just a lookout point and a revolving restaurant, Now it come with much activity can be done there besides having a bird-eyes view of the whole KL (given a clear sky) like 3 minutes pony ride, maybe a petting zoo and F1 simulator. Well, not that much things to do still.

Truthfully, tourist spots not my big favorite place to go with the parking space and all. Hurmm, thinking of it, shopping complexes were no better. Hassle parking, waste of gas and mileage, swarms of people. OK. It is never hurt to be a tourist next door.

Anyhoo, I saw something that would make a shame of national proud; KL Tower, as the maintenance of this place looks like done by cut-short people. Seriously, this kind of solution looks like a simple wiring use to be done just to light a toilet outside the house in the village long long time ago. Even now in the village have more proper wiring than this.

One glance, you would not see anything wrong with this picture. Just a street lamp post that has been vandalized but wait. what's that?

Looks like McGuyver has visited this place.(que: McGuyver Theme Song)

and away the wire go....

Across the fire, and across the sea...

Putting a electric post might cost more why don't we put it up on the palm tree. OK. now, we wait for the palm tree to grow

Choo... choo..... the train reaching the destination.

s

tara..... I told u so, McGuyver wuz 'ere... see there's masking tape used.

Well, this post is not to make anyone embarrass of their work. They should be proud of what they are doing. Until there's an innocent person being electrocuted by this wiring (God forbid.), I left the talking for all the politicians.

IIAM : Road to Mecca

I never knew there's an Islamic Art Centre in KL. What? You know about it? Big whoop. Wanna fight about it.(Ops! Family guy influence kick in)Well, for those who doesn't. It might be a good time for you to pay a visit there. Currently, there's an on-going exhibition on Road to Mecca (Pameran Menuju ke Mekah).

I should mention here, it is a very well maintain place and lots of green for shutterbug.

I hope I could find some angle for photo shoot but I was there an hour before it close so I had to speed up my pace to catch up with the others.

Stepping into the exhibit hall, we’ve been greet by guide book used long-long time ago by pilgrimages to guide them through the pilgrims activity.

Big guide book

Mobile guide book

Hajj Route. I never been to Mecca to perform pilgrimage but from seeing all the item on exhibit there, the methods have been made easier by 1000 fold.

there's even an item errected in the midst of the exhibit hall to show how the old way the pilgrim would spend the night there in mecca to perform hajj. I just can imagine their hardship and strong will to perform the 5th Rukun Islam.

Item used to navigate through see. Yes. They sail all the way from Malaysia to Mecca. Round trip might take few months!! Compared to few hours by flight. How convenient our life has been.

Water flask used during those time. You can see the tent in the background.

and Old print of Al-Quran Nul Karim.

Well, there's so much to be seen there. I've seen some foreigner theres and none local. This might be due to
1. Locals don't know this place like I was.
2. They don't think that it is a great exhibit to be in.

Some of other exhibit item picture as below. FYI, the exhibit still running until 22 January 2010.

Find you way there.

MyGovernment Portal

Yes, I send them email to help reset my user ID and password. I send them email around noon and they came back to me at the time where I thought all the government worker already left the workplace (6.35pm).

At first they asked for my mykad number and mobile phone number, next thing I knew I got my password reset with no question asked. I'm glad it is not a tedious process but I do hope they do it more with extra security as anyone with email and my IC number could also do the same and misused my ID. Hope they would reconsider this term and have it more secure.

Anyhoo, the admin help is pretty much adored and they did deliver at a very fast time around. (Side note: I've tried to send some email queries to some of the government agencies but until today and thankfully it is not the case for mygoverment portal admin). Thanks alot.

Back to the Future... on the xmas long weekend.

Grew tired of going to Old Town Kopitiam? There's alternative; for now there's only 1 outlet and I have NO idea if they have any plan to open any others, presenting Sai Kee Kopitam or maybe you have seen it in your nearest hypermart as 434 coffee. Situated in the very heart of Muar, this small kopitiam does not have the modern look of now ever-growing population of Kopitiam in Klang Valley and all I can say, I'm loving it!

Located in front of Muar's bus station, you might find it is hard to find parking spot. I would suggest paying to park either at The Astaka or maybe at the parking lot before you reach the bus station.

The food serve here fit for breakfast or tea-break but it is open throughout the day.

The interior is pretty much like at the back of menu itself.(seen anyone familiar in there?)

Lots of people coming in and out as my wife and I taking sweet time there, if not mistaken at least 2 couples and 2 families had come and left while we were there.

I do love the coffee they serve here but I am in the run of searching the best mocha within reach so I tried to see what 434 interpretation of mocha drinks.(and sadly, I won't recommend it) I also order some 'roti bakar' which is pretty good and soft.

Interestingly enough, next door to the kopitiam there's an outlet shop attach to it. You can find variety of coffee and tea on sale. Let me recommend you the elephant bean coffee, while I'm not a coffee connoisseur. I just like smell of coffee in the coffee maker  :P.

You can also have the coffee freshly grind for you. Just select the bean and they will grind it for you on the spot. Oh! For those who wondering, there's halal certificate from Islamic Department of Johor at the counter. enjoy!

Anyhoo, I embed the location of the Bus Station, the shop really in front of it.
